CPC suffers a loss of Rs. 23.89 from 1 of litre Kerosene, Hon. Minister of Petroleum Resource’s Development Arjuna Ranatunga stated at the parliament, responding the query arose by Parliamentarian Jayantha Samaraweera.

“We have reduced the increased Kerosene price to Rs. 70 following the requests made by fisheries. We spend Rs. 93.89 per 1 liter of Kerosene. We are gaining loss from Kerosene” Hon. Minister Ranatunga stated.

“Fuel price formula has been released. This process is doing by the Treasury. According to our formula, we can reduce the price when the price go down in the world market and increase it when the price up in the world market. We have appointed a committee under the approval of the cabinet. Up and down of the fuel prices depend on the recommendation of the above committee” Hon. Minister Ranatunga added.
